iOPT_PRO

The forecastForecasting System of the iOPT Product Family.
The iOPT_PRO forecasting application enables the estimation of short- and medium-term developments of the (gross) load, price and inflow forecastforecasting parameters.
Load forecasts may be drawn up for individual commodity types (electricity, gas, district heating) both from the sales and production views. Depending on the objective of the analysis, the forecasting procedure uses either deterministic or statistical methods which, in addition to expected values, also provide information on frequency distributions and key correlations (e.g. for subsequent risk-managementrisk management analysis).

The optimizationOptimization system solutionSystem of the iOPT Product Family.
The optimization application iOPT_OPT permits the integrated optimizationoptimization of trade and production. With iOPT’s extensive library of model elements it is possible to model any energyenergy system – thermal, hydro-thermal, or combination systems. The planning horizons range from the immediate future for operations management to several years. In addition to classical optimizationoptimization, either with or without integrated risk managementrisk management, maintenance planning, stability and sensitivity analyses may also be carried out.

iPLAN: Strategic Planning and Analysis

iPLAN is a strategic planning and analysis application for medium- and long-term optimization. In addition to creating models for system changes and investment analyses, it allows you to quantify the effects of general political conditions, to analyze externalities, in particular environmental effects, and to optimize the allocation of scarce resources. iOPT_TRADE includes contract managementcontract registration and handling in different markets (spot market, OTC, powerpower exchange). Integrated interfaces to information services and powerpower exchanges permit prompt and secure trading, fully supported by a powerful portfolio and risk managementrisk management system with a complete array of analytical and simulation tools for evaluation. Back-office and schedule managementschedule management functions prepare and provide any necessary reports in accordance with international standards (e.g. MS Office) and applicable regulations (e.g. DVG, APCS, ESS).

The new general conditions in the energyenergy sector: Isolated optimization efforts have become a thing of the past due to the liberalization of energy markets, the increasing energy demand and delays in powerpower plant projects, the tide in globalization and heightened environmental awareness. We face an increasing demand for integrated solutions which also take into account the energy, technological, and political factors and which are supported by up-to-date information technology.

IRM Consulting&Services is both a method and a tool. For this approach, a number of computer-aided tools have been developed which basically depict the objects as a mathematical model with its technological and economic characteristics. The method and the model core are the same for all projects; customizing and consulting, however, are completely different for each project.
